Default Bone jarring bumps

I have recently bought an '03 Ram 1500 with 60K miles and 220/55/20 tires. Any bump feels like the truck is going to disintegrate. I don't get the bouncy-bounce I would expect from worn shocks but wonder could this be an affect I've just never experienced Or might it be the lower profile 20" tires? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

The low profile 20" tires do not have a lot of sidewall to absorb impact..... therefore, the suspension gets it.

The stock tires for your truck have sidewalls that are 2.5 inches more than your current setup. Those are some narrow tires you are running right now, and may not be as wide as your rims.
