Ouch. Well that sucks. So instead of a repair for under 50 bucks, it's going to be in the hundreds of dollars..... That's just idiotic, and is one of the main reasons I drive a truck from 1998.......

Hhhmmm.... Maybe time to have it towed to a shop with a really good scanner....
ISSUE CORRECTED!! So, after changing the shift solenoid, that includes the range sensor, that is attached to the valve body, my selector still would not indicate when the truck was in park or neutral. A buddy of mine borrowed a decent scanner from his work and brought it up to see if we could get anymore information on the issue. He went through and cleared the codes and stuff out and the next thing we knew, the truck registered it was in park. It's been 3 days since this and it is working fine still. I assume that maybe after changing that sensor, the computer needed a reset/reboot to register that it had been corrected. Thanks for all the info
