BigDave.....Why not just check the window sticker for the EPA mileage rating? It may be a little inflated, but if you check the window stickers on other Rams as well, it will at least give you a basis for comparison.

The mpg I previously stated were a mix of highway & city driving. Mostly cruise control set at 55 mph. Also, in response to DelawareDon's post, they do not put the EPA mileage on the window stickers of 3/4 ton pickups.

Oakleys.....I was unaware that EPA mileage figures were not posted on 3/4 ton pickups. Thanks for the info.

I've got an 06 hemi 2500 QC 4x4 with 4.10 rear end. I get approximately 9.5-11.0 around town and with my recently installed tonneau cover my best recorded mpg on the highway has been 15.8. But thats going from Coastal SC to Northern Florida. Pretty flat stuff. Traveling through hilly terrain at all, I get 12.5-14 on the highway.

I think larger tires will actually perform better than the 265's with the 4.10

a larger tire will drop your effective gear ratio. You will lose some acceleration, but gain mpg assuming you dont use any more throttle than you did when you had stock tires. I have an 07 1500 QC with 1050 miles on it. I was getting 10.5 city in 2WD and 9 city in 4WD when I first got it. Now, I am getting 14 city in 2WD and 12 city in 4WD. My driving style is to never use more than 1/3 pedal for any situation. I do have the 3.92 gear but cant see a reason to flat foot it all the time when at 1.3 pedal, your already faster than most traffic you encounter.

Maybe its all those years of driving 12 second cars, but the less pedal you use, the less gas you use. Its that simple. You cant be Sam Speedy and expect to get 20mpg, you CANT do it !!!

You'll probably get 10-15. A little higher on the freeway if you're careful.

The gas mileage is what it is. Don't buy a gas guzzler and then complain about mileage. I have a 2006 1500 Megacab Hemi. I increased the mileage and power (besides sounding badass) by changing the stock muffler for a Flowmaster 50 series SUV (not as loud as 40 Series) and a K&N intake. Now I can get atround 17 on the highway. Think of it this way: these mods will pay for themselves (that is how I sold it to the wife)

it really sucks that i called seven different dealerships and they all had to look up what trucks had the mds system. Four out of the seven were wrong.Tells you that the salesmen should do a little more research on there product. It cracks me up even more that when youask them about the mpg they cant even begin to answer you, and if for some reason they do itshard to keep a straight face. I had one salesman tell me a 2500 mega gets 15 city and 22 highway! what the heck was he smokin! I thensaid wow a 2500 gets better mpg than the 1500? Then proceeded to walkaway.

I dont understand why the mega even comes with a HEMI. Specially the 2500. Diesel is the only way to go in a truck that size.
