Did SeaFoam...here is the video
We do something similar to sea foam at work, we use a slow drip through the intake, and one through the gas tank. Seems to work great as far as I know...but the funny thing is, once the customer leaves there is a huge cloud of white smoke following behind them down the road. haha
How did you apply the Seafoam in that video? The smoking typically happens as you suck the Seafoam into the intake via a vac hose while the engine is running. Since the hood is closed you didn't do it that way so how's it getting combusted?
I put 1/3rd into the oil, 1/3rd into the gas tank and 1/3rd via vac hose connecting to the brake booster...thats where i have the most suction....sometimes when you put it into the vac hose the motor will choke out but mine did not. Once all the seafoam was in turned off the motor for about a half hour and started it back up.
If done properly you should get the big smoke show when you restart it. If you are getting a ton of smoke while it is being sucked in you are over reving the engine and burning it off before it can do any good. You just give enough gas, if/when needed, to keep the engine from stalling. The last bit of the 1/3 can is poured in and allowed to kill the engine. That few ounces is what causes the main smoke show. It is supposed to sit inside the cylinders and sort of steam clean. Then when you restart you have a bunch in the cylnders that burns off and smokes.

To the contrary it will help clean the cat's. I have seen it clean fouled O2 sensors as well.

No – quite the opposite. Sea Foam® actually helps to clean the catalytic elements, restoring its efficiency, and reducing that “rotten egg” odor you occasionally smell from some catalytic converters that aren’t working properly
