Default some of my problems...

Hey guys!!.. New to the site... I have an '03 4.7 with KN cold air intake, flowmaster 50 and stage 1 Jet chip... Some of the prblems I'm having at 65000 are.. Truck shakes when accelerating AND decelerating through 40 to 55 MPH. Vibrating when stoppng (maybe rotors, but just replaced 15000 ago???). Power steering fluid leak and last but not least... When I hit a kind of ripply highway the truck begins bouncing so much it borders on contol issues. Brand new tires on it... had problems before. Thought the tires would fix some of it, but they didn't.
Any advice or help wuld be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Don't have enough technical know-how to addressmost of your problems but the truck bouncing on the highways kind of sounds like a tire balancing issue. Not completely sure about it but I've had a problem like that before and that's what the cause was. Does your steering wheel shack when that happens?

Also, I'm new here as well and want to ask you what a flowmaster 50 is?

Flowmaster 50 is a flowmaster muffler. I have a flowmaster cat-back exhaust kit. Turns single exhaust into dual and gives really nice exhaust note. As for wheel balance issue... tires are brand new and balanced. had same problem with old tires...

For the power steering leak check this thread:
https://dodgeforum.com/m_138437/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

That was the problem i had with my '03 qc 4.7.

Vibration when stopping, if it is not in the pedal it could be rear rotor's, had the same issue.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Red... Read the thread, I'll try the clamps first... and the rear rotors were replaced same time as fronts... don't consider myself hard on brakes. Maybe the the new parts are just junk ????

I had a problem with my last truck shaking about those same speeds. It was a crack in one of the plug wires. Try checking your plugs and wires, have you replaced either since you had the truck? if not i would go ahead and replace them both or even go ahead and give it a full tune up.

i took a suspension class last semester so if i can remember correctly your truck shaking on the high way, is 1) tires unbalanced, 2) bad shocks 3) somethin else in ur suspension is shot or lose. if u just got new tires they were probaly balanced.

sorry, but it could be a whole rack of stuff all suspension related.

Yeah the hopping around on the road is more than likely bad shocks. These trucks do that from factory.. Mine did it when it was stock. Now I have new shocks and it's lifted and it doesn't do it anymore.

The vibrating when stopping is more than likely the rotors being warped. It does happen very quickly with these big heavy trucks. You might try slotted rotors to repel the heat better.

Much (if not all) of the warped rotors issues can be traced back to badly tightened wheel lugs. These have to be tightened very close to the factory setting or the rotors will warp very quickly. However, most shops just use an air wrench and hope for the best. I've seen wheels that had 4 times (4 times!) the pressure on the lugs than recommended. Very common problem with even the most trusted tire shops. If the amount of lb-ft of pressure used is not on the receipt/bill of service, insist on having them torque wrenched before you pay. Takes an extra 30 seconds at the most. Doing one on each wheel is probably enough. Either all or none are going to be off .

I have on '05 Ram that had a power steering leak and it ended up to be one of the lines were leaking at the connection. Line and connection were replaced.
