torsion bar?
I have read on here in the past that people have adjusted their torsion bar to level out the look of their trucks. How difficult is this to do? Does it compromise the ride of the truck? Does anybody have pictures of their trucks before and/or after this mod? Thanks in advance.
Its actually a leveling kit with two torsion keys. You have to remove the old ones and install new ones and you must pull off the torsion bar to do so. I haven't done it myself but just ordered the kit friday so have been reading alot about it. Everything i've read says it doesnt affect the ride quality. I think it obviously it will even if its just the slightest bit due to changing the aerodynamics.
I just installed a 2" Readylift Leveling Kit on my 04 Ram. Its just what HANSONHVAC said. Its 2 torsion keys that are cut to a different angle to allow the front to lift. Make sure you measure from your fender to the bottom of your wheels before you install it so you have something to go off of. You can adjust after they are installed by tightening or loosening the torsion bolts. (Its all in the instructions). And yes it did affect my ride. The front is more bumpy or bouncy than before. I am looking into installing some off-road shocks to cure the problem. I will post pics when I take some.

If you have a 4WD, then just tighten the torsion bars. If you want to level it out though, you'll need 2" drop shackles in the rear.

ya crawl under the truck and just crank the bolts on the torsion bars, mine are cranked pretty much all the way in and looks pretty close to level, save your money instead of buying them leveling kits
