20 Inch Chrome Clad Wheels
I think you both should shut up and grow up!!!!!!
anyway my 04 laramie has the 20's with chrome over plastic and there is a half dollar size chunk missing, enough to have to get them rebalanced till I get new ones. Also when talking to Dodge dealer "mechanics" (see my toyota post) they said that with 20" rims I am losing power and MPG. My thinking is going to the 17" wheels aftermarket of course. Truck is Blacked out so I would like to get a wheel with black and a little chrome accent.

the cladding can be protected by put the tire on the back side of the rim. have the tire place put the rim face down and run the machine along the back lip (thanks JOE) and that should save your plasitc fronts. I would not pay MORE money for the chrome covers at the dealersship, but if they where like "pick one or the other" there wouldnt be an issue.
It's true that with bigger wheels and tires, you're dealing with more wheel mass. This will definately affect your braking as you have to use more force to stop the wheel from spinning. As for fuel mileage, the weight difference when compared to the rest of the truck is so slight as to be unnoticeable. The only way that a different sized wheel will affect fuel economy is if that wheel also comes with a tire that has lower rolling resistance because the contact patch on a 20" tire is exactly the same in length as on a 17" tire and will differ based on the width of the tire, regardless of size (diameter).
You dont need wheel weights anymore. A tire can be balanced with weighted BB's that are put into the tire and once the truck is driven, the BB's find the high/low spots and stick, thus balancing the tire. My father has them on his ram with no problems.
I have the plastic clads and love them. Much shinier than the aluminum, real easy to clean with just window cleaner, etc.
The clads do not go to the outside of the rim, so the weights don't clamp on to them.
Mine are over 3 years old and look like new.
