Default RE: wiring subs into stock stereo

Sad_drake, I have the MTX thunderform with Two 10 inch subs, I might assume you have a simular system, yours has the built in amp mine does not.

It is preformed to fit the exact dimentions of the storage space under the rear seats. Very nice units.
If your box has a speaker level input you can plug the wires right into the box's amp input, but if it requires a RCA input go the anaudio shop and get a line level converter ($20)

This is a schematic of the Dodge audio harness of the Infinity 7 speaker system (if you don't have this option tel me)

The SUBWOOFER AMPLIFIER, has B+ at pin 2 (red) with fuse no. 24 of 20 amperes in the integrated power module; the accessory line (pink/yellow) goes to pin 3 & has fuse no. 39 of 10 amperes.
The main amplifier is located at right side of dash, but the woofer amplifier is at left side of body.

you will want to tie into the Amp input subwoofer wires drk green/tan wire and the grey/tan wiresThisis a low level input to the factory amp. This is a low freq audio range signal bass only but use the low level freq switch on ht eamp anyway.
You will need to run a key on low amperage power wire for you remote amp wire turn on( the newer amps have a ma voltage sensor and donot requiire this wire). I recommend a Amp install kit, htis will have allwires applicable (power/groundlow awg wires, RCA's, remote wire and battery block and high amp fuse).
I ran my sub in this manner and have been enjoying the bass ever since

Default RE: wiring subs into stock stereo

w/o premium system the wires to tie into are;
LF Speaker +/- dk. grn/yel - dk. grn/lt. blue
RF Speaker +/- gray/yellow - gray/lt. blue

LR Speaker +/- gray/lt. grn - gray/dk. grn
RR Speaker +/- dk. grn/lt. grn - dk. grn/gray

You can tie into anyof these wires but if you want the subs to work when you fade the speakers to the front you need to tie into the front speakers
LF Dk/yellow-posand dk green/lt blue for neg
RFgrey/yellow -pos and gray/dkblue for neg

I hope I have helped you
Good luck

Default RE: wiring subs into stock stereo

I just did this on my 07 RC (basic single disc head unit).

Buy a line out converter (even Wal Mart has these, like 20$). Tap the rear outputs (I just used the little clamp splices you can put over your stock wire, I didn't want to cut anything). If you want, you can tap the fronts too, the converter I bought has a front and reap preamp out, if you intend to add anything else, you might as well do the work now :P If it has line out gain settings, turn them up all the way, just be sure to turn the gain on your amp down all the way before you fire it up for the first time. I was able to set the gain on it and the amp all the way up and adjust it with the remote.

Rear outputsare: (from one of the earlier posts, these matched my wiring too).

LR Speaker +/- : gray/lt. grn/ gray/dk. grn
RR Speaker +/- : dk. grn/lt. grn/ dk. grn/gray

While you have the dash apart (theres a good walkthrough in this forum for tearing the dash apart, I added info for the 6-spd people :P), look at the cigar lighter wiring. If your cigar lighter goes off with the ignition off and the door open (like the radio does), you can use this for your remote turn on. Tap the Red/Yellow (maybe orange and yellow, it was dark. Theres only 2 and the other is clearly not it).

Run your remote and preamp to your amp, add in a power and ground, and your good to go.

If the amp has a remote, and you have the little compartment below the radio, those remotes fit pretty well there. If you take the rubber piece out the back, you'll have a decent size hole to run your wire through (I had to carve it open a little.... but the back of the rubber piece covered it all up nicely). I really like being able to adjust the amp level on the dash.
