I read that story as well, the owner did not get in any trouble either, because of the self defense laws. (I believe he was from Texas). That guy also had a kill switch under the dash as well though I believe that needed to be hit every time the vehicle was started.

There was a SRT owner jumped at a car wash. Guy with a gun, giving him all these orders and BS. Anyhow, the guy tried to steal the truck and could not start it, never under estimate stupidity. The gunman grew aggrivated told the owner to tell him how to start the truck or die as he is waving his gun, owner went aound to the passenger side as instructed, but he in turn drew his gun he had on him and killed the criminal.
Now that's hilarious

I don't understand the point of it if you need to turn the key and then push a button. That seems plain stupid to me. Why not just turn the key, maybe I am missing something. That is like taking a shower, not using any soap, getting out, drying off, getting back in, using the soap, getting back out and drying off again. Makes no sense to me.

there is no point to the push button start, its just something that alot of people think is cool (including me) pretty much a conversation piece.

Yes, it is the cool factor.

I have talked to a few people about my SRT10. Which by the way you can not start with the key, it only turns to on and goes no further, you have to use the button. Anyhow... I wanted to have someone develop a remote and programthe panic button on my key fob to unlock the column and turn on the AC, then all you would have to do is push the panic on the key fob, which you are usually pushing unlock, so one more button would go unnoticed, then push the red start button once in the truck. Then when you leave the truck push the lock button to lock it/shut it down. Of course you could still use the key to override everything. That was my thought. Will someone ever make such a thing? Probably not.
