Default What to do about all the problems?

Well Im getting fed up with this truck. I have a 06 1500 with 12k on it. Ive been taking it in for vibration and the tires wearing uneven. The last time they balanced the tires and sent me on my way. I still have the problems. I just got a recall letter for the wheel bearings. Sounds like the replacement might solve my problems. Im taking it in tomorrow for service. Ive taken the truck in for oil changes in the past and asked about the other recalls. I always get a reply saying they REALLY dont need to be address. Can I MAKE then do thee recalls? Im also getting a REALLY bad vibration when braking hard. Anyone else have these problems? I love the truck but I'd really like to get this stuff fixed!

if a recall is issued, it needs to be completed and if they tell you it doesnt, then i would be going to another dealer and writing a letter to DCX and tell them whats going on....as far as the vibration when braking, sounds like warped rotors

a dealer could have a huge liability if you go in their shop and ask about recalls that need to be completed and then you leave and get in an accident because of that recall or u get injured..recalls are issued when there are a SAFETY concern and also for somethin else but havin a brain fart at the moment...there is no reason for a dealer to say they dont have to be done, except if they dont want to do it, which even then it's unacceptable for them to do so......

like i said, i'd be calling or writing DCX a letter or you could also call the regional service manager that covers that region and talk to them

Vibration and tire wear are a sign of wheel alignment, not balance. Find another dealer or take it to a local shop for a front end alignment.

the dealer seems to like to put 30-35 psi in the tires--my tires were wearing a
little funny --mostly the fronts wearing on the inner and outer edge
i just keep my pressure at 40psi all around and it seems better

not that this is your problem--but maybe check it
and yes i have vibration as well--and getting worse on the highway
--its getting hard to keep it going straignt at 70 mph
g/l
and post your results after the recall

It funny you mention that. My last service they said my PSI was wrong. I told them they were the only ones that touched the truck. He just looked at me.

Keni i am a suspension and steering technician at a local dealership here in st.louis and i wil tell you as will most people that vibrations ARE related to tire balance and wheel alignment along with many other components of a vehicle. For you to say wheel balance has nothing to do with tire balance i think you should do a little research before saying a false statement like that, and if you dont believe me go out to your truck and take all the wheel weights off of it and drive it i am willinto bet you will not enjoy the ride!

Dodge put PASSENGER tires on my truck from factory...Needless to say, they last a whole 20,000 miles. I swapped on some heavy duty retreads and have been real happy with them. Price was right and they are going to last at least 30000 miles. To bad my coils sagged already and had to be replaced. I'm pretty sure I got the bugs worked out of the front end now.
