'07 Ram 1500 weights?
I just bought an '07 Ram1500 Thunder Road 4x2, I was looking underneath it and discovered that there are matching weights on both sides that look like cast iron doughnuts attached to the frame. Also in the back, up behind the bumper is a long round cast iron piece that is mounted on rubber bushings that will twist back and forth. I am baffled. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Maybe the Hemi is so powerful they have to weight the truck down?...

Bomb! LOL. I was thinking the same thing.
Dublea, are there any wires or sensors coming from anywhere? What does the lettering say on the "doughnut" shaped one? Are the different pieces related or attached somehow? If there are no wires, no mechanical propertiesor anything like that I would consider them dead weight and fire up the plasma cutter.

I have them on the frame of my 06 as well. Best answer I've heard from other forums is that they're used to dissipate vibration in the frame. Mine must not be cast iron though, or they were painted, because they've always looked silver.
Well, I guess that makes sense. Vibration dampening. I wish mine were not already rusting......
