Default RE: Who would like to see the return of the 426 Hemi?

They actually have a 426 crate engine out now, and it puts out less power than the 392 (510 hp/510 torque est.). Here's the specs on the 426 from moparperformance.com

Mopar 426 Hemi® crate engine — 465 Horsepower, 486 ft.-lbs. torque Originally introduced in 1964 as a racing engine, the legendary 426 Hemi first appeared in 1966 street B-body Dodges and Plymouths, such as Dodge Charger, Dodge Coronet 500, and Plymouth Belvedere. Vehicles with numbers-matching, original Hemi engines are a rare find today; if you find one, they can be expensive. Now’s your chance to put a brand-new 426 Hemi in your classic vehicle and grab the advantage of the latest in production technology and Hemi power. This Hemi crate engine puts 465 horsepower and 486 ft.-lbs. of torque under your right foot. For maximum performance, Mopar Performance recommends the use of a 750 cfm Holley carburetor and 2.00" header primaries. Stick a Mopar 426 Hemi® crate engine in your classic car and get ready to feel the power.

With gas here at $2.92, right about now I'd settle for the old 225 slant six.

Maybe I need toclarify a little...

If you used the Viper motor then it would be an SRT-10 (Truck already exist)

Yes I understand a 426 crate motor is available for about $12k and I'd love to have one (Can ya spot me the money to get it? Hehe)

I am just talking about a Production Ram with the 426 Hemi as an option/upgrade.

Don't be hatin'
The 426Hemi has a specialkind of nostalgiafor us older guys.

P.S. I can remember when regular gas was 25 cents a gallon and I could fill up my motorcycle by turning in 5 empty pop bottles for the 5 cent each refund. Oh the good old days.
