I did it on my '06. Do you have the floor console or do you have the fold down cupholders?

If you have the fold down cupholders like me, you fold those down and there are 2 screws that are screwed up into the bottom of the radio bezel. Unscrew those and then just pull the bezel out. Then take off the knee bolster under the steering wheel (4 screws I think), and then the driver-side dash bezel that has the switch attached to the back of it. Take your time, there are screws on each piece. Not too many, but if you just pull them off you will break the plastic.

No problem. I searched for days on this and a few other forums while wating for my fog kit to come in, figured I'd save you the trouble, wish someone would've done that for me.

Those first two are the hardest though. They are at the very top front of the inside of the void cupholder space, one to each end. you gotta put a finger up under there and just feel around for two cylindrical openings, the screws are in there. Kinda hard to describe and I'm packing to go on a trip this weekend, or else I'd get you a pic. Good luck, man.

This is helpful: lots of pics to tear down the dash.
It is for a 2006, but very similar.

I found the two screws just by sticking my hand under there..... I won't have time until this coming week to do it.... The weekends for my daughter.... We'll off to the Movies, the Mall shopping and maybe Ice Skating later.... "Kids!" Aren't they great!

OK, had a chance to work on the truck today....

Started by pulling out the side (near driver's door) and lower panel under steering column. After that I was able to access more screws to loosen the panel which holds the light switch in there. I was able to jar the panel open wide enough to get a small 7mm 1/4-drive socket in there to remove the old light panel.

Here are a couple of photos.....
