Default K&N Air Intake

Anyone have a K&N Aire Intake? Did it make a noticable difference in horsepower? Is it worth the cost? How easy to install?

What about K&N replacement air filters?

Anyone who says they "felt" a gain, well they are dreaming. You can not feel the few HP it will give you.

As for filter replacement, they are cleanable, just have to buy a recharge kit anywhere K&N filters are sold.

Hey Kentucky, regardless of what Ohio said, replacing your Air filter with a K&N Cold Air intake will increase the horsepower on your truck and if you are really in-tune with the feel of your truck you may notice a smoother acceleration. I replaced my exhaust and cold air at the same time and I noticed a difference in pick-up around 300 rpms. It's a good purchase and I think most people on here would recommend it. It comes with directions for an easy install. Good luck!

I added a K&N filter into my truck and got 2 - 3 mpg better than before the filer change. As far as the recharge kit goes it says to clean the filter every 50,000 miles so you have a little time before you have to worry about cleaning your filter.

all in all, it wont hurt it to put a CAI and exhaust on your truck.

The more air you put in, the more air you needto let out.
No it isn't, that's a way you can get more HP.

Hey Pirata!!! I am assuming that you bought the normal filter replacement right? If it really added that much (2-3) I'm gonna get me one!!!!

Yes, a direct replacement to the stock filter. I just got finished with a day of driving and it came out to be 19 and change for mpg and I was driving like a bat out of hell all day. I only wanted something that would "pay" for itself in savings before this summer's trip and $250 for a whole CAI would not save enough money before the trip. I am also look into a new exhaust for the trip.
