Just looked at a buisness tv programme where it said that B.P oil made, £2.3Billion (Sterling) in 3 months alone.
That's apparently down on profit, for the samequarter last year.................
The Dollar/Sterliing on Bloomberg is $1.9667 per UK pound.
At those exchange rates that's $4.5 Billion US $..............
I get charged a fortune here in theUK for petrol. $8.50 a gallon !!!!!!!That's why I've got LPG gas, which my Hemi's been running on for over 17months.
It's disgusting that companies make this amount of profit at our expense.
I also know our government, probably like yours in the US, are also ripping us off with taxes.
I wish we could organise something like your boycott here in the UK but as stated above, hopefully make it stick and hurt.
Consumer power is the way to go.
Al.

It makes a lot more sense to do this on May 15th:
air up your tires
and volunteer to air up the tires of 9 other vehicles.

Gasoline prices are very tied to gasoline consumption.
It appears to be about a 20 to 1 ratio.
A 1% rise or fall in consumption leads to a 20% rise or fall in price.

{there are several past posts on this giving evidence}

If everyone in the USA aired up their tire pressure to 2-4 psi over what is shown on the door panel, gasoline consumption would fall and the price would come down.

Even if you doubt this,
it has a MUCH BETTER chance of working
than not buying gasoline on May 15th.

If you are a patriotic American
you should educate yourself as to how
the USA should prepare for
the cutting off of the 60% of our oil that we import
....or at least the 25% of the oil that is imported
from countries other than Canada and Mexico.

You want to make a difference? Dont buy Gas from the major corporations. Think about it, over 1/3 of the major refineries and exploration wells are owed or subsidized by Exxon/Mobil. This company makes in 1 quarter the GNP (gross national product of some countries). Exploration fees have not increase, insfractrutured is shot, and I can assure you they dont pay their staff any more now than they did 2 years ago. You know, Citgo, Arco, Valero... All those companies still make money, but dont pull the reveneue that Exxon/Mobil does. If we dont buy gus on the 15th, all that it does is allows them to have one day of low sales. We need gas, it is a necessity, we dont have choice. We do however, have a choice as to who we purchase it from. There was an article on the WSJ about consumer direction and the effect on the large companies and the truth is that we are not very well educated when it comes to our power over fuel cost. Lets face it, we will never see the $1.50 per gallon of gas again, it is not real. It does not exist. But we can see the $2.20 to $2.50 per gallon. Just stay away from the dominant companies. But from the smaller ones, force the large companies to reduce their stock and lower their profits.
