HEY GUYS. I JUST WANT A LITTLE INPUT HERE IF POSSIBLE. I HAVE AN 03 4.7 QUAD CAB. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH DUAL FLOWMASTER EXHAUST AND JUST RECENTLY PUT AN AFTER MARKET AIR FILTER ON IT. I AM LOOKING TO GET THE SUPERCHIPS PROGRAMMER FOR IT IN A FEW WEEKS BUT JUST WANT O KNOW WHATS CAUSING IT TO RUN WICH I GUESS. IT HAS ALOT OF BLACK AROUND THE END OF THE TIPS. KINDA BURNS ALOT OF GAS TOO. ITS BEEN LIKE THIS THOUGH SINCE I BOUGHT IT BEFORE THE AIR FILTER. AND SUGGESTIONS? I NEED SOME SPEED ALSO. I GOT SMOKE BY A SCION T AT THE LOCAL TRACK THIS WEEKEND ON THE 1/8 MILE. TALK ABOUT EMBERASSING. I COULD ONLY DO 63 MPH ALL 3 TIMES I RAN. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. KEEP IN MIND I HAVE A BABY ON THE WAY AND NOT MUCH MONEY TO SPEND ON REAL EXPENSIVE STUFF. LOL. THANKS GUYS.

 

um... it's a truck. it's not the HEMI. ummm... scions are much lighter and can race unlike most trucks. hm... the truck is heavy as hell. oh, a flowmaster and air filter won't help you beat a scion!! there we go! maybe a HEMI with that stuff might stand a chance. but other than that, no. i can't think of anything to help you. sorry.

Don't worry about Duke playboy he's usually just joking around. I'd buy a superchips. This might help with it running rich as it adjusts the timing in the engine and stuff like that. My 4.7 never ran rich so I couldn't tell ya if it helped with that ornot. It did really firm up the shift points though. That will help you with speed a little.If you're not satisfied you can return it within 30 days. Autoanything.com had them for just under 300 bucks.

 

THANKS TINYFXDS. I APPRECIATE IT. IM WORKING ON BUYING A SUPERCHIPS NOW. DID IT MAKE A PRETTY NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR 4.7? I ALSO WANT TO HAVE THE EXHAUST REDONE TO 2 1/2 INCH CAT BACK WITH A DYNOMAX MUFFLER. IS THAT GOOD? HOW BOUT GUTTING OUT THE CAT?

 

ALSO IS IT WORTH DOING THIS 180 DEGREE THERMOSTAT THING? I HEAR EVERYONE SAYING IT LIKE ITS A BIG DEAL. I HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT IT.
