Air intake system upgrade
2006, Ram 2500 Heavy Duty, Cummings diesel, 4x4, 4 speed auto, 8,500 miles
I can't decide if I should upgrade the stock air intake with a new system such as the AFE Stage 2. Several people say that you get more power and better fuel economy. I have plenty of power for my horsetrailers but the economy interests me. I stopped by the Dodge dealership this morning to get some cosmetic warranty work done soI inquired as to their opinion and it was a definate no. Their reasoning was that the intake was matched or engineered for the exhaust system and as far as economy, when the system saw an increase in air intake it is automatically going to increase the fuel to keep fuel to air ratio.
Opinion or experience?
Thanks

im not sure man, alot of people swear it will help. while others say it wont do anything. i actually broke down today and went out and got a k&n drop in air filter. IMO the CAI isnt worth all that extra money but i figured getting the filter couldnt hurt since i dont have to do anything to it for 50,000 miles
