RE: Pics of the new grill
Thanks guys!
It is an OEM replacement that I had sprayed. Dodge doesn't sell the surround painted in Inferno Red. I had a shop do it for me. They only charged me $100 (basically the difference between a new chrome surround and a painted surround) since they were doing other work for me (unrelated to the grill). It turns out the chrome was bubbling off of my surround, so they were able to get a painted replacement on warranty. They took the new painted one and re-sparyed it Inferno Red. They did an excellent job.
That is the only part that is different. The insert wasn't replaced. Nothing aftermarket on there.

I'd really like to swap out my'07chrome grill for a color matched black one. I have the lights blacked out and the windows tinted, so all I really need is to do the grill. Does anyone know if the OEM black one has the same metallic flake, or do I need to get my chrome one painted?

It should be the same. I believe Dodge only makes one type of Black, Crystal Black Pearl, which would be the same for all models. Dodge only offers the painted grills for those colors that are offered by the Sport and SRT models. Black being one of them. So, you should be able to order a color-matched grill! Bad part...................I think it'll run you about $425.

Not true. 06-07 Black is called Brillant Black paint code DX8. It is different from the 02-05 model.
Dodgeparts.com shows that they sell a black for 06 part number is 5JY10DX8AC $300 or you can buy the unpainted for $180 and have it painted.
