Default Engine swap

Anyone know if I can use the 4.7 (optional)5spd transmission with a 5.7 Engine?

Anyone know where I can find 5.7 engines for sale? How much would a full swap cost? Engine, transmission, computer, and everything involved?

I would like a 6.1 Hemi betterif anyone knows where i can find one.

Any help will be appreciated it! Thanks

The transmission I have is 545RFE

5.7's are everywhere, salvage yards, ebay. There are even some 6.1's on ebay as well, not cheap though. Dunno if the tranny will handle the power. Full swap will be expensive to get everything right.

Can you give me a link to the ebay engines for sale?

I searched on ebay and I only got one engine for sale for 2500 with everything needed minus the tranny (didnt say the mileage). I would like to see more options.

Will my tranny work with the Hemi?

Thanks

If you are anywhere near Carlisle, PA you could probably find everything you need at the Cars at Carlisle event. They have different events for the major makes. Mopar is in june or july I think. I'veseen dudes there with crated viper engines for sale.

I'm sure there are plenty of salvage yards across the country that have some floating around...

See above

go check out sheradon performance. they have done a complete 5.7 to 6.1 swap. the truck is SICCCCKKKK. 4wheel drive and a supercharger on top of that. they have chewed up some trannies though and they are the pros. your gona eat that transmision depending on what hp you end up with.

wahts the purpose of this build? daily driver? drag truck? if its a daily driver you need to think more reliability because alot of stock parts wont hold up under continual abuse. if its you tinkerin project then spend the money on the 6.1 and get a tranny from suncoast transmissions. they have one that is supposed to hold up better under extra power.

swapping the 6.1l in is not goin to be a simple tranny swap etc... id get a 5.7 and swapp heads and intake. throw in a cam and enjoy the 350+ whp. you'll need an smt-6 with the bigger cams though
