Thanks

why would your son want to put stuff on a truck he leases? they might make him take it off if he trades it back in unless he plans to buy it outright after the lease is up. just something you might wanna check.

Like i just said you can put exhauts on teh truck even with a lease. mods are ok as long as they dont depreciate the value of the truck significantly. i have done exhaust, cai, speakers ( yes i debadged it but i have new badges to throw on when i give the truck back, i just thinks it looks soo much better without them. The dealer told me everything i have done to my truck is stuff that most guys do anyways so it wont be hard to sell my truck when they take it back ( if i dont buy it out after).... exhaust isnt that expensive, so if the dealership does bitch just keep the stock muff and when you give it back after the lease throw the stock muff back on ( most shops will do that for like $40-$60)

you may have to replace a 02 sensor when the Y pipe is cut out, if you don't own the truck don't mod it for some one else to take advantage of.

I replaced the stock ex on my 06 2500 5.7 with a dyno max ultra flow, really woke up my hemi.

why would you be cutting out the y-pipe if your only changing out the muff? All you need to do it cutoff the stockmuff and trhwo in thenew muff. no need to touch the 02 sensor or the y-pipe.... the muff in these trucks are usually right under the rear of the cab where the bed starts. ya technically i dont own it but thats fine with me, i still want to personalize it to how i like it for the tim ei have it.

the y pipe is were all the restriction is, just swapping out a new mufler will do nothing for the performnace, when the y pipe is gone, you have a true dual set up, better.

actually swapping the muffler will help because the muffler does use back pressure to quite the noise down, when you have a louder noise its due to less back pressure, altho you are correct in saying the y pipe does cause restriction that is very true, running and H or X pipe out and a higher performance muffler in each pipe would be almost ideal
