Default Steering question

I went to the dealership for some maintanence and was told that my trucks rack is leaking. I did not get it fixed yet due to low funds. I examed my parking spot when i got home and i do not see any evidence of anything leaking on the ground. If the rack is leaking where should I be looking for proof before i blow a wad of cash getting it replaced? BTW my truck is out of warrenty with 60k miles on it.
My truck is a 2004 ram 1500 3.7 v6 all stock.

Thank you

Joe

The rack on my 04 and my 06 both leak a bit, its not so muck a leak, it weeps a bit causing the boots to have a little oil on it but no oil is dripping from them. I wouldn't worry about it unless you start to use power steering fluid.

My brother had the same problem with his 03. He just checked his levels often and added as needed. It was in the winter months and as it warmed up outside the problem went away. The price quote he got was several hundred to fix. If it was a bad leak I would probably try one of those leak blockers you could add to the fluid. But, those could also clog up something that you didn't want to be clogged. It's a gamble sometimes.
