Default Grille borders

Heres sumtin I need advice on.... My buddy told me to paint/replace the chrome grille border on my truck... But i looked around and have not found a replacement for the border... He said just paint it... But where the truck is so new and looks great... I don't wanna just paint it... I still want it to look nice... Does anyone know the best way to paint that part... or where I'd be able to find a black grille border? I've tried finding them online... either nobody has them or I'm using the wrong search terms... Any help would be nice.....

I do not believe they are repaintable. I looked into it and my local body shop told me it cant be done. However on ebay I did find one that is a one peice border with honeycomb grill all black. Than you can just add a snap on grill.

I did it. Check out my pics: https://dodgeforum.com/m_784909/mpag.../tm.htm#784909

You cannot simply paint the chrome surround, you need to purchase a paintable surround. However, if you have an 07 Brilliant Black Ram, I believe you can purchase the color-matched surround from Dodge (or Mopar). Since they sell the Ram Sport in that color, they will have to have that piece available because the Sport models have color-matched surrounds. If I am not mistaken, the surround piece is the same for all 1500 models (as far as fit). I had to paint mine because Dodge doesn't sell an Inferno Red Sport model, which means they don't sell that part in that color.

Just contact your dealer and inquire about a black surround for a Sport model. Oh yeah, cost is around $300 - $350 for the color-matched surround piece.
