Seems odd to me, too. But what do I know...I'm just the little woman who drives the huge truck - you wouldn't believe the comments I get at the dealer If I make a suggestion to the service tech they just say "yep, checked that", but I'm not believing that they did. I just want my truck back - they gave me this Jeep Compass to drive, sheesh. It's like driving a go-cart without the pickup.

But my husband is scratching his head, too - I think he's just hoping they'll have to buy me a new truck, LOL.

I know this may be WAY out in left field, but when I had my HVAC problem. I felt it in the Gas pedal. When I would increase theFan Speed it would become more pronounced. Fan on High and it actually rattled the pedal and made a horrible noise. Fan off and no pedal problems.

Also and I'm sure you have checked all this, but...check to see if anything is inbetween the pedal and floor. i.e dead cat, snake, neighbors child. The floormat could also be involved if it's not positioned correctly.

Hope you get it fixed.

Well, took the truck back to the dealer on Monday, they called yesterday afternoon and said they were ordering an intermediate steering shaft. I asked if they were sure this time...[&:]

This is their last chance to fix it right before I invoke my lemon law rights. You wouldn't think it should be this difficult.

Thanks for all yours suggestions guys. I'll let you know when I get it back (and if it's fixed).

Mary
I know its frustrating, and I have the same truck, Though I only have 2000 miles on mine, and have not experienced the same (yet) *Knock on wood*.

I would do as someone else suggested and try another dealer. I don't know why, but it seams that Dodge dealers have some of the worst service departments!

If you have one near you, i'd try a larger Dealer, maybe one that deals with multiple manufacturers, sometimes the service tech's have more experience in these types of establishments.

This dealer is really pulling a good one. Next they will want to change the transmission or the front differential out if they keep this up.

Mary if they don't give you any satifaction call Dodge's support line they tend to be real helpful the times I have dealt with them. Plus it will speed up your lemon law claim if they don't get it fixed. They will get the regional tech specialist down to the dealership and they will look at the Ram not your Bubba and his other brother sparkplug.

I used this with My dad's Sebring program car and the gave him a new one back in 05. He thought he was screwed until I went and called. He then got a call from Chrysler to pick up a new one.

Good Luck!!!

Default RE: 06 Mega Cab Problem - FIXED

Hey Guys,

First, Pappy, I checked under the pedal - no dead pets, snakes,or small children - thanks for the suggestion! Got it back from the dealer last Thursday evening. Had a LOT of driving to do over the weekend, not one clunk so far....by gosh I think they fixed it!

They told me they were replacing the intermediate steering shaft, but when I looked at the paperwork, they replaced the upper and lower steering shaft. Anyway, I hope it stays fixed, but I have a some left on my warranty......so we'll see.

Thanks again for all your suggestions and humor......I'm sure I'll hang around, y'all are real nice folks.

Mary
