Default 06 Mega Cab Problem

Hi,

I'm hoping to hear some suggestions from forum members, since the dealer can't seem to figure this problem out.

I have an 06 Mega Cab with 17K +/- on it. At about 15K, I started to notice a clunking/clicking feeling on the gas pedal. I only feel it there - not in the steering wheel, not through the floor, etc. I also don't hear anysound associated with this feeling. At first it seemed to "come and go", now it is constant, but more noticeable at slower speeds.

Took it to the dealer, at first they couldn't duplicate it - until I took the service manager for a ride . So they kept it, called me the next day, said wereplaced the ball joints (at 15,000 miles - sure, like it needed that). Picked it up, drove it for acouple days, problem still there. Took it back again, they had it about 3 days, called and saidok, now we replaced the gas pedal assembly, should be good to go. It's not. I'm still having the problem. They assure me the front end is solid, but something is going on - something is wrong and they can't figure it out.

Anybodyelse experience this clunking on the gaspedal? I need help.

Thanks for reading,
Mary

Yeah, I think that's what they thought when they put on a new gas pedal assembly....but I still have the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion though.....keep 'em coming.

TB= throttle body? I don't think so, just the gas pedal assemble (whatever that includes). You'd think the dealer should know what to do. I keep asking my husband to go stand over the dealer mechanic's shoulder.....he just rolls his eyes at me. Thanks for the suggestions.

Have they tried a complete dump and reprogram of the computer? I had something similar happen on a Voyager V-6 and that took care of it. If not I'd ask them to try it, that way you would get the latest patches in the software they have out for the engine.
Throttle body maybe.... But I would lean toward the Computer myself.

Hope that gives you something to have them chase... Good Luck!

Please, post what they come up with when you get the answer. You have my curiosty peaked now.
And if you don't get an answer, I would find another dealer. Sometimes that works too.....

Well, took the truck back to the dealer on Monday, they called yesterday afternoon and said they were ordering an intermediate steering shaft. I asked if they were sure this time...[&:]

This is their last chance to fix it right before I invoke my lemon law rights. You wouldn't think it should be this difficult.

Thanks for all yours suggestions guys. I'll let you know when I get it back (and if it's fixed).

that seems like an odd fix seeming as you felt absolutely nothing wrong in the steering and felt the problem in the accelerator, but hopefully it solves the problem for you!
