Default BRAND NEW DODGE OWNER!!!

Hi everyone. This is my first post and I am proud to announce that I just purchased a Black '03 Quad Cab v8 Hemi powered DODGE RAM! I will try to post a pic later on this afternoon if anyone is interested. She is a beauty. The reason for my post is, I want some advise. I am eager to make additions to my new truck. I think the first thing I want to do is add dual flowmaster exhaust. Is this a good idea? I am using this truck for everyday driving, so speed is not the issue. I want good MPG. What else will increase MPG? Any idea and links to things that I can add that will not increase performance but overall looks of my new truck. Thanks for reading everyone.

Welcome to the forum. Some people find some mpg gains with a cold air intake, some claim no change. a programmer (Superchips 3715 for your truck) will increase your fuel economy if you can resist the temptation to have fun and drive fast. In my opinion, black with a bit of chrome looks good. If I had a black truck I would put chrome bed rails, nerf bars, possibly tail light guards. Hope you like the forum.

I would start with a good tonneau cover. And make sure your tires are aired up good with nitrogen the higher the pounds the better. At least around 65#.

Hope that helps....

Hey welcome to the forum, both warhorse and djr are correct, the cold air intake is an awesome addition to exhaust, your making the exhale easier with the exhaust so go ahead and let your truck inhale alot better also, the tonneau cover helps quite a bit taking away the resistance of the box and a tuner can work wonders, tire pressure is also a good point but before going to the 65# mark mentioned above check the tire ratings, no sense trying to over pressurize your tire and possibly ending up in a horrible accident trying to gain .5 mpg

Well, I'll have to wash the Mississpippi mud off from where we went build houses if you want pics...then.. But yes, I did forget to ask which tires he had. Yeah you don't want to over pressure. Mine will take 70# and I run 65# . She pulled a 16 ft trailer with about 6000# of tools too the coast and back at 10 mpg....
