Default "Check Engine" Error Code P 0344

Check engine light has been intermitently coming on esp after fill-ups and now it remains on! Found error codes to be P 0342, P 0456 and P 0344. Found bad hose coming from the Purge cannister and repaired. Pulled fuse # 13 and the light has gone off but after driving approx 5 miles the light has come back on and showing only a P 0344 code. Also notice that the Cruise control indicator will not come on when trying to turn on the Cruise thus no Cruise indicator light will come on nor is it operable! This Dodge Ram Quad-Cab w/4.7 has not had any mechanical add- ons or conversions and was purchased new! Mileage is 78,500 with reg oil changes, just had brake job to fix the never ending brake shimmy that has always been present and just had a new set of Bridgestones installed! Need to know what is causing this error code P 0344 and what repairs are needed! The code reader says Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent. What is simple terms is the meaning and what repairs are needed? Was hoping to keep this truck for a couple of years longer but not so sure if it is fixing to need ongoing repairs.

When you guys fill up do you pull the hose out after it clicks off or do you put a little more in to round it to the nearest dollar?

I have watched this and have 38k now on my 03 hemi ram. It's when i have a pump that is high flow - If I half gas it, it wont come on but those high flow gas pumps at the stations usually set it off. Either I have a bad censor or gas is getting into somekind of overflow.

When my cruise light didnt come on, the truck also ran like crap could not pass anybody, also little volt light flashed. I foud out that it was the map sensor was junk cost me like 65 bucks and changed it my self. Dodge updated the map sensor so if old one dont have screws holding it in then you will need some. Hope this helps you out!!

I just changed the cam/crank shaft positioning sensor on my 03 dodge ram 1500 4.7L engine after engine code PO344 came up on my code reader. I reset the code, twice, and after 10 minutes of driving, each time, the engine light comes on and the engine shuts down. No acceleration until I shut off the the key while rolling and restart the engine. Any other idea what could be causing the power loss?

Default p0344 code

I had a p0344 code pop prior to filling up. Since it is -15 degrees here in ND today, I dumped a can of Heet into the old girl 04 qdcb 4.7l and filled it up. The code stayed and it was chugging at 2500rpm so I dumped a couple more Heet in her. Still having issues. Recently changed plugs and water pump. I have had same issues in past but usually fill it up and drop a heet and it goes away.

So I just picked my truck up from dodge, same truck same motor, and same body. They had it for a year and had me replace the PCM, PDC, ABS module, traction control module. $1700 later it still was doing the exact same thing. They told me they swapped the coil packs and O2 sensors and it fixed the problem after a f###### year. Seems to have fixed my problem.
