Default Why is my truck...

squealing from the rear of the truck and shaking above 50mph. It squeals when I am accelerating and decelerating(goes away at about 35 from what I can tell. It sqeuals when braking and shakes sometimes when I brake(almost feels like abs is kicking in under normal braking). I took it to a mechanic the other day and they immediately said u-joint. So I had that fixed and I still have the same sympotms. Do you have any ideas on what is going on?

if the shaking can be felt in the brake pedal when braking it could be warped rotors.

I'd go with the warped rotors too... maybe a jammed up caliper

Would the warped rotors cause the squeal? How would they get warped?

Not sure what year u have, but the 04's had a major issue with the rotors warping. Squeal could be the pads.

I have an 02 QC with the 5.9. Pads have about 50% wear left. Truck has 43000 soft miles.

I had the same problem with my 02 after the dealer decided to cut my rear rotors. Right after that they replaced them because they warped within a couple of days.

How do the rotors get warped with 50% life left on the brake pad?
