Default Swapping out head units in an 05 Ram

I want to swap out the crappy Dodge radio for a system I can hook up an ipod too and display text, ect.. Is there a dash kit or something for these trucks to fix the funky size of the factory dodge radio? Anyway I can make this a double din size?

I do believe there are double din kits that require some cutting of the factory dash. Kits to fix the size for a regular aftermarket stereo are available at just about any car audio store.

You can buy everything you need to make a new head unit fit. If you purchase a head-unit from Crutfield, you get all the install gear for free. This link shows you what you get for a '05 QC: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-b7Y3k7e...p;cc=01&l=

I don't know yet. I'm thinking I would like the RB1 but if I go with a double din I would like something that has a big screen and has connections for an ipod and will display text such as Artist, song, album ect.. maybe theSony or Pioneer NAV units. Something with a flush screen. RB1 is pricey though.

I don't think those kits will work. The dash where the radio is, is slightly rounded. Its not a flat area where a double din sized Navi would fit. I think you need the hole bezel that houses the radio, climate controls and storage. Anything like that available? Anyone seen any pictures with a double din unit installed in an 05 and older?

I have an Alpine head unit in mine that I installed. It has an ipod cord that runs out the back of the cd player. I ran that into the glove box. I have an 05 and the kit the sell at Wal-mart has the rounded one and the rectangle one in the package. I dont really like the ipod thing because I cant control it from the ipod and it takes too long on the head unit. i was actually thinking about selling the whole set up, sub and amps. go back to stock.

You got a pic? But the radio itself needs to be slightly rounded for it to look good, doesn't it?
