Default For PowerWagon Owners

I brought my truck in for the first oil change Saturday, as I got two free with the purchase. Someone posted previously to make sureto remind themto lube the double joint on the front drive shaft, as the PW's are different from the other models, there is also a decal under the hood that states this joint needs service.

So, Imentioned to the service manager and he added a note to the invoice for the tech. Well sure enough, an hour later I on the road and look at the copy from the tech. He added : Front drivve shaft joint permanently sealed [:'(].

So back to the dealer to crab. The service manager come out -"what's the problem?" I let him know, and under the truck he dives, only to appologise several times for missing it. For those that take their rides in for service, having the manager add the memo to the service tag is a good way to catch an errors.

Also, anyone have oil leaking from their winch? Mine has always had a drip at the joint between cases. All the allen screw were loose, and after tightening the screws it slowed down to a seep. I mentioned to the service manager, his response was "who installed the winch?" [:@]I told him Dodge. Anyone else have this issue?

I haven't had those problems, but I have had problems with dealers not knowing what a Power Wagon was. When I was looking for one I was told several times that there is no such thing or that the Power Wagon was just a trim option. I couldn't believe they didn't even know what they sell. They could tell me how many cup holders something had, but had no clue to anything more than that.
However, I had a hard time finding the grease fitting on the same joint. It is easy to overlook.

I know what you mean. I had a difficlt time finding a pwerwagon and finally fell into one. When I first crawled under before reading the manual I did not see the grease fitting either. Like you said, they don't know what the sell as the service manager did not know the PW's come with a factory winch.

Isn't that sad... all they are a bunch of pensil pushers.

The winch sounds like a common problem with Power Ram owners...

The grease fitting goes for any Dodge 2500. Basically, much is the same between the PW and the 2500, since it is the same chassis and everything... just a bunch of sweet options.

I think all the 3Gen 2500-3500 4x4's have this grease fitting in the front double-cardan U-joint.
There are other threads on this in the dieselforums.

The Dealers want this to fail...[:@]
