bad in rain

My family was in a car accident inseptember due to hydroplaining while entering the highway and hitting a slick spot. We flipped my 2006f250 powerstroke and my daughter didnt make it, and I am glad to have my other 2 children. My main reason for headache rack
. Anyways, if it hasnt rained in a while and then begins to rain is the most dangerous time to drive because the oils are now wet, but havnt washed off yet. When turning on wet or dry the rear ends begins to hop a little. Could that be because of the suspension, or the tires hopping when pulling out at higher rates of speeds. As of now I have the stock michelins and they have done pretty well in the rain, but i am going to upgrade to larger a/t tires. The best precaution is just dont hurry, and let everyone just fly by you.

Sorry to hear that. My serious condolences.
Yea as everyone else says...those stock wranglers on them 20's are TERRIBLE in the rain, why they continue to use them factory I have no idea. Here in NY when it rains I have to be soooo light on the throttle off lights because my tires just spin. And I was riding for a good month or so with semi bald rear tires...now that was a picnic. Nothing serious ever happened but I dream of the day I get new wheels and tires for my truck.
heres a simple solution to hydroplaning when the roads are bad.... SLOW DOWN. It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. Good god if you know what ur doing you really don't need to worry about tires and such just learn to drive to conditions. If you hit a large puddle doing 60+ mph then ur gnna hydroplane pretty much no matter what. I laugh when everyone sez u need 4x4 to drive in the snow. I've had my jeep wrangler for three years and in the snow have maybe used 4x4 twice, and I don't shy away from driving in the snow either. If i gotta go somewhere it don't matter what the roads are liek i don't worry about it. Cuz i know that with a good head on ur shoulders you can make it through jsut about anything.

I've had an '03 and '04 with the 17's and went round a few times. This '06 has the 20's and I have only had an issue once a little after I first got it. That was on a concrete over pass and a fault of my own (little too much throttle). I am a "fairly" cautious driver most of the time though.
