Default Should I dare to two tone?

As with all truck owners, we do all sorts of crazy things and spend all sorts of crazy money to make our rides unique and our own (at least this goes for the people on this fine site). I am in that pursuit... I have been playing with the idea to two tone my truck... now you will have to use your imagination a bit... I am at work and the photo edit software is limited to Paint, and I really don't have the patience to try to make a rendering... so imagine the hood, on the ram, with the paint scheme of the ford (silver/grey over red, my truck is inferno red)... As you can see with my advitar that I have the chrome of theSLT package... so imagine that too (I think we all have pretty good imaginations, to look at a truck as a blank canvas and paint your own masterpiece). Well, what do you think? Has anyone else two toned this way? If so, please post some pics as I am trying to get a better idea of what the end result will be. Thanks for any input!

I think that looks pretty sweet. I like the lambo doors too. Now what was that other member here that has the lambo doors on his hemi??? HMMMMMMMM!!!!! I wonder....... LOL

I however am not inclined to like the hood. I would rather go with rims and tires with that set up. The hood does look great, but unless it is a functioning hood and intake system, I would stay stock and go for the meaner rims.

Hmmmm... Honestly, I'm not sure how it will look with the chrome grille and surround. The Ford has painted areas around the grille, so the offset isn't just stopped abruptly by the crosshairs which take up the entire front end. You would only have the hood as the two-tone. Know what I mean? If you paint the crosshair to match I think it will look a lot better. That's the way I see it in my mind, anyway.

I understand the issues you've been having with the quality of the finish on your truck, so I think getting it redone, especially as a custom two tone, could be a pretty good idea. I like the SRT-10 hood, as well.

I was thinking of doing the 2 tone thing myself, I am toying with the notion of going with a silver top half but I cant bring myself to doing that to a new truck just yet

All 3 of mine had two tone gray lower. I like it because you dont see road grime and small nicks very well. Does a nice job of hiding that kind of stuff.

Thanks for the input guys! I forgot to tell you to imagine a 6" lift with 35s or 37s under it... that will be happening before any painting... thinking MickeyThompson Classic Locks (with the red simulated beadlocks) and MT ATZ's for the rubber... Yeah, and the chrome, I am not too sure about it either (it would have been so much easier with a sport), I am not going to replace it so I might as well figure out a way to incorporate it... maybe change up some of the lines or something.

I am not sure how it would look with the painted grill and the chrome bumper

Definatly some of my motivation... other then wanting to set it apart of course.
