Default Exhaust Question

Im posting this question for my dad. He has a 2004 Ram QC 4.7. He wants al little more noise but nothing outrageous. On his exhaust it has the muffler and then that little thing behind the axle (I'm guessing a resonator). Has anybody removed this, what difference did it make? If not any muffler suggestions would be nice.

yes that is a resonator, removing it will give you just a slightly different tone but probably not what your looking for. Have you looked into the flowmaster 50 series? That would be a good muffler for him if he doesnt want loud but wants a nice rumble

My 205 dodge ram with the 4.7L. These are flowmaster 40series delta flow with the resonator removed. Honestly, it isnt really loud on the inside.
