I went to Best Buy to get a single Din indash dvd unit (Dual 8183) for my 07 Ram,and they said it doesnt fit because there isnt a dash kit available yet.Is this true??So then I asked about a doulbe din unit and they told me there is pretty much nothing they could do to my vehicle because its so new.They also mentioned something about a special wiring harness.Does any of this make sense?Have any of you run into similar problems?

 

Wiring harness makes sense because of the CAN-BUS. But they do make install kits for out trucks. Search around the internet. I found a double din kit for mine but the link is at work and I don't remember where I found it. With the DD kit you have to buy a new dash bezel piece. Good luck.

 

I saw a dash kit for the 07's at wal-mart. You shouldn't have a problem finding one...

 

All those installers know only what is in their computer... there is no differance from an 06 to an 07...

I got my single din dash kit from circuit city, best buy had em but was out of them at the time. I did get the proper wiring kit for it (like 50 bucks) and my Sirius receiver for my alpine from best buy. Also one note to add to my surprise is I was able to mount the aftermarket sat receiver to the factory mounting plate of the receiver that was in the truck and I was able to use the factory antenna. All I had to do was take that rectangular mount off the wire and it hooked right up.
