Default Power door lock fuse

The other day out of the blue my power door locks stopped working in my 02 ram qc. I then checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. I replaced it and tried the lock, it worked, tried it again and nothing. Checked the fuse and sure enough it had blown again. Not sure where to start the troubleshooting on this. Anyone have any ideas?

i'd start by following the wiring from the switch to the motor looking for any shorts since it blew after you used it. It had to happen somewhere there isn't constant power.

Its not recommendedand most times works, but a mechanic once told me to use a higher amp fuse. Say yours is a 25, try a 30. Some other mechanics say not to because it could damage other electrical components (dont know how) tried his trick on my old 1980 Cougar and it worked like a charm for many years. Dont take my word for it, check around and try at your own risk, chances are it will work, but I dont want you to come back and sue me.

Door lock mechanism is only resistance at the switch from the schematics I read.

i seriously would stay away from a higher fuse, alot of times it will find the problem but only because the component that was causing the problem is now smoking and a serious fire hazzard
