I need help. I need to see how the wiring harness is routed for the underhood light. My truck did not come with this option so I ordered the pieces to add it. I am left with about three fastenersattached tothe harness that I do not know where they would go. Thanks in advance.

I can not imagine my SRT is different. I will snap some pics tonight if no one else is able to. I added a switch to mine since I go to shows once in a while and have the hood open all day.

 

you don't have to wire it directly to the harness. Ground the black wire to any of the ground along the side fenders and the wire with the color strip can go straight to the battery. The unit does not draw power unless the hood isopen . It has a level switch that opens and closes the loop when the hood is raised or lowered. So when the hood is down there is no draw of power that can drain the battery. Don't forget to put a fuse as close as possible to the battery between the wire with the color strip and the positive terminal. Hope this helps.
