Engine cut off tied to fuse? 2006 Ram
Have a 2006 Ram 1500 Quad cab, 1 yr old. While driving, it blows a fuse that cuts the engine off. It has been tested at the dealership and they cannot find a reason...computers show nothing. Since they've now run out of brave service techs to test drive the truck, they're ready to send it home and giving me extra fuses as they know it will blow again (as it did on them). HELP.....what am I missing. This service dept has always been good (had Dodge trucks for several years and no problem with the service dept). Any ideas? The affected fuse? is the #2 engine control relay.
If you keep having problems that they can't fix, envoke the lemon law. Have you made any connections to any wiring, anything at all, since you bought the truck?
What gear does the engine shutoff in? I had a problem when I would step on the gas just a little bit leaving a parking lot and the engine would shut off and the steering wheel would lock up. I brought it to dodge and they spent two days trying to figure out the problem. They eventually updated the computer in the truck so that it wont idle at 500 rpm and shut off when it drops below.
