I am completely dumbfounded by this site. One week everyone will bash K&N then the next everyone will embrace them and yet the week after they will bash them again and so on. Based on my experience with a drop in K&N I am getting 2 - 3 mpg more over the stock filter. Someone will point out, if they have not already, K&N will make no claims about improved mileage however in my case I saw an improvement. Run a search of the site and see for yourself which side you're going to put your money.

The drop-in has basically the same filtration area as the CAI kits do. Your stock airbox is already well-insulated; far better so than a simple wall or "air dam" that the CAI kits use.

My route will be to use a K&N drop-in and open up the box's intake opening. You end up with all the benefits of a CAI and a fraction of the cost.

What Pirata is saying about searching the site,is some people post a load of crap about “Unbiased Independent testing and Scientific research†only to have it blow up in their face when someone actually takes the time to read through all the afore mentiond load of crap and the results state that the K&N drop in is the way to go.

Hell if K&N made filters for my House AC system I'd use those as well.

I will be putting a drop in next week, if I still have my Hemi I am tired of keeping both the GC and Hemi clean, well along with my other two toys. Considering trading both the Hemi and GC in on a new Wrangler Tuesday. Smaller so it will be easy to maintain, yet very customizable.

I bought the dropin for my 06 and just replaced it with a AIRAID CAI which made a lot more difference. If you want the K&N drop in for $25 just email me. Im not sure if it will fit your 07 or not

+1...

Most people's results are their "***-Dyno 1000" anyway, and that means a hill of beans in the real world. I highly doubt few guys here, or anywhere, are making mods, and running their truck on a dyno to see what the real-world results are of their mod, and actually what HPs and torque are benefitted from the change.......{{rolling eyes}}

To those that have actually paid the time for the dyno runs to prove those who didn't wrong, my humblest apologies.

I was thinking the same thing this morning when I changed my house filter.
