Quad Cab Single Sub Box
Has anyone built a sub box, just for the rear seat, like the SRT-10 Quad?
I am thinking about making one for a Kicker 10, I have. but I am thinking I can just make one that sits on top of the current carpeted area. Just kind of like a cap, then seal it to the current area. Any ideas? I dont want to lose the storage area under the whole seat, so I can keep some storage.....

I got the round one, old school....
How do you like yours? I am going to replace everything in the truck, I am kinda hung on the door speakers though. I'd like to just put them in and have the new head unit power them, but I know they sound a lot better if you run them through an amp. I just hate to re-wire the speakers and all. Just like to hookup with the harness and run some RCA's to the back.

I love my sub box. The only bad thing about it is it has to slant in and the sub i have has a huge basket around the magnet so it sticks up about 3/8" above the box so i just siliconed it to seal it and i can't even tell now. Every other sub i've tried putting in there fit perfectly tho. Go figure. I put new door speakers in also, i didnt bother with an amp just new speaker wire from the back of the deck straight to the speakers. Sounds great!
I had a single 10" JL W1 put in a custom enclosure that went under the passanger rear seat. It sounds real nice, and for half the price of the JL's Stealthbox. I have heard some not so positive things about the ebay boxes, not sealed properly, falling apart, etc. As for your doors, if you are going to do it, do it right. I have a JL 4 channel, and with the RF door speakers, it makes a huge differance. My next upgrade is to do the components, removing the RF's. If you don't want to run the wires all the way to the speakers, an easy way out is to: run your RCAs to the amp, run the speaker wires from the amp to the wires (especially assuming you are using an aftermarket head unit) on the harness, not connecting the door wires from the harnessto your head unit.
I think you are right. I just have to bite the bullet and run new wires from the AMP up. I can leave the factory harness, for the most part in place, in case I sell/trade in the truck, I can put all the stock crap back into it. What did you put in your doors? I have heard different stories about the speaker sizes, and what will fit. Ive got the amps and all, out of my 95, LOL, which has worked well in the past, 1 cross-over with High-Low, a Punch amp, and a JBL amp(yea its a piece, but 4x100 is what I was looking for).
i have infinity speakers in my doors. I have 6x9's in the front, the backing was just a little too big to just drop in so i had to get my tin snips out and make the hole just a little bit bigger. In the back doors i put in 6 1/2's they fit right in with no modifications.

hey thanx ya it took a bit of time but well worth it, they way i did it was:
1.) layed out a piece of cardboard over the whole part under the seat, cut the holes out and cut the corner angles, then transfered that to a piece of mdf, set it ontop in the truck.
2.) line the 2 wells with plastic and staple it to the mdf (inner edge of the hole)
3.) put on 2 layers of figerglass over the plastic in the wells
4.) once dried remove it all from the truck, peel of the plastic from the outside of the figerglass and put another 2 layers on the outside
5.) made a 2" high wall all the way around the mdf
6.) attach the top pieces of mdf
7.) install carpeting using 3M spray on adhesive
