blowing blue on start-up
my mom has a 2006 Ram 4x4 with a hemi... it's her work truck and mostly sees highway duty. 40,000kms on the clock. Full synthetic oil.
When it's started after sitting for a couple days it will blow a cloud of blue out the exhaust. After the initial cloud it won't do it until it sits fora couple days again. This just does not seem right for an almost brand new truck! Does anyone else see this as a problem to be covered while still under warranty?
Are the valve stem seals on there way out, or have any of you experienced this as well?
Would like your opinions.

I don't think I've ever had that, but since I'm usually the only person who drives my truck I don't see the exhaust on start up. I recommend taking it in under warranty to have it checked out.
Could be an oil issue... a crappy car that i used to own did the same thing.... Was told that the oil was leaking internally and going thru my exhaust... and the blue smoke came from the oil build up....
it looks like the owner doesn't even care about it! Not willing to take it in for checkup or anything... I think that's silly. Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Well, considering the smoke it blue, that means it would be an oil problem. So i would start by checking the intake gasket. I highly doubt it could be the rings or the vavle seals.
