Power Wagon owners: Will a 35" tire fit without rubbing?
Will a 35"(315/70R-17) tire fit, on a stock suspension, without rubbing? I will be using the factory wheels. I DO use my truck for off-roading so I want to make sure that I will not tear up my front bumper or the tires whenthe suspensionflexes. Thanks!
I asked the same question earlier and several people said they were running 35 with no problems. I don't know which tire they had. I am waiting to wear out mine so I can go to 35's too. Scott
I am picking up a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrains, Hummer H2 take-offs, tomorrow for a steal. I know that a 35" tire will fit just fine on the street. My concern is when I go off-road. Using the truck for what it was designed for is where I am not too sure about rubbing.
i just got a leveling kit for my 2500 i dont know if they will work on a powerwagon or not but im putting that on before i put on my 35's
I have read from other Power Wagon owners that there may be a rub with a maximum right?(left?) turn. I would sure like to hear from some other Power Wagon owners out there. Although a small rub at the turning extreme would normally not be a concern, with my Power Wagon I find that by cranking the wheel to the absolute extreme left and right at speeds of 2-4 miles/hour locks my axles almost instantly. So a small rub at the turning extreme would be an issue for me.
Kore Performance sells custom solid aluminum billet control arms that are offset to accomodate larger tires without rub ( up to 37's), but they are expensive, about $2,000.00; so it would be nice to know if they are necessary to avoid rubbing with 35's. They are the only company I know of that makes such a thing. I guess that's why they can get such a premium.
