Default Used 1500 choices...MDS or no?

So, I am pretty torn between an 05 and 06 1500 that I found online. Both hemis, but one would be an MDS and the other not. So, can you all help me out? Has anyone had both and if so, which do you prefer? Seems to me like there is not a whole lot of advantage to the MDS and it also appears to have a lot more moving parts to wear outor break some time in the future.

I have the MDS on my 06 and to be honest you dont even know its there. Its very efficent and does save gas.....although I really dont care about MPG if I did I would drive a Honda. Id look at the difference in price personally......and the MDS wouldnt be a deciding factor to me

I was also looking at a 05 and a 06. As you can tell I went with the 06. I do mostly city driving so MDS does nothing for me there ... but I do take it on long fishing trips so highway MPG should be better than a 05. There was also many changes they made on the 06's such as the interior and in my opinion it was all for the better. If price is not an issue then go with the 06 ... I found mine actually cheaper than some of the 05 I was looking at. I think I got a good deal.

if you do mostly city driving, mileage will be the same, so your opinion should be based on appearance of the exterior/interior. If you do lots of highway driving (while being under 70 mph with cruise) the 06 will have an advantage in the mileage department.

Things to consider

05 has a 7/70 transferable powertrain warranty, 06 does not.
MDS is advertised to get you an additional1 MPG highway.
New suspension on 06, that also has a recall, make sure that is done.
New interior 06, do not care for it, but that is opinion so look at it and decide yourself.

Curious what you found, QC, RC, miles and price?

Looking for QC 4x4.
Found an 05 with only 11k on it for $23k
Found an 06 with 30k on it for $20k
Found an 07 with 6k on it for $27k
They all seem like fairly decent deals but the 06 is a private seller so I would have to unload my current ride wich is a PITA. Going to look at them all tomorrow, so maybe that will help narrow it down. Thanks for everyone's input.

I was originally going to get an 07 but test drove their "lot driver" and HATED the MDS. So i found an awesome 04 that i got a hell of a deal on. I bought my truck for all 8 cylinders
