Superchip Tuner

RE: Superchip Tuner
My superchip arrived today and I was wondering what kind of setting you would use for max hp? What about for max fuel economy? If you set it to run off 87 but you were using 91 (or visa-versa) would this yield better or worse results? Could this have adverse effects to the engine?

Best HP and MPG would be to set it at the 91 tune and run 91 or better gas. Running with the 87 tune only give half of the power capable of the tuner and allows the truck to run smoother no matter what gas you run. You will get a little better MPG running the 87 tune, but definately run the 91 tune. You will not be sorry.

Pirata - i know you havent had the tuner very long but did you get it put on yet? Satisfied with it? I just ordered mine last night and am anxious to get it and put it on.

Pappy... with all those problems and only living an hour away, I would have loaded my computer and the SC in my truck and drove over there to have them fix it. 91 is the best setting, you actually get the best of both world, power and better economy. I get an additional 60- 80 miles out of a tank (34). I doubt that it offsets the cost of the premium stuff, but I pay a little more for the gas and get a lot more entertainment value from it.

I agree on the setting 91 for the entertainment value alone is worth it.
