Dodge Ram 1500 vs. Chevy 1500 vs. Ford F-150
in my opinion, the dodge is a better truck. just my observations here ppl. i test drove a ford f-150 and the interior just felt cheap. the dash and controls just felt wrong. the ride sucked. chevy is good, dont get me wrong, but they are too damn proud of their trucks and the price tag shows it, maybe just the area i am in but they cost more for the same truck basically. the horsepower, interior room, outside appearance, and my grandfather's influence(owned dodge p/u as long as i remember) are what sold me on it. that and i got a hell of a deal, i think. out the door i financed ~6K less than sticker so...................
Well this is the 1st Dodge Truck I have owned (1st Full sized also) and to be honest the Chevy Truck interior seemed (looked) cheap. Fords seem to break down alot, at least mine did.
Not to take over this thread but my son and I stopped to look at a late model Z28 for salein someones yardthe other day. The passenger side fender had a hole in it. As I was looking at the hole and wondering why it wasn't rusted, it appeared to me that it was not metal or fiberglass, nor was it plastic. It actually looked like Painted Fiberboard, like cardboard only a high density version. Go figure.

HEMI, i guess i liked my 2nd gen that was my first dodge, i like this one and wanted a hemi, i basically just like dodge the best for half tons. Bigger than that, definately a powerstroke though. and lastly i frickin hate GM
I took a very open approach to buying a new truck. I owned a 92 GMC that I liked a lot but needed something newer for my business. I decided to try each truck rather than go on any preconceived opinion on how they would be.
The Ford was first, an 04 F150 extended cab with the FX4 package and leather buckets. Nice image, horribly stiff ride like the shocks didn't even exist, and the "300" horsepower 5.4 didn't feel anything like that. It would have had a hard time outrunning my 210hp (and 330tq) TBI truck up to 60.
I didn't drive the 03 GMC. I liked the leather interior - it seemed really plush - and the automatic mode of the 4wd was enticing. I know the 5.3 can be modded pretty well. I just couldn't get past the plain exterior styling. It's just so "me too" and blends in with everything else.
Didn't consider the Titan. It wins the magazine comparisons because they don't have to live with them for long. I didn't want the droning stock exhaust or the horrible reliability record. Consumer Reports actually gives it the solid black circle for reliability. The interior really didn't do it for me either - just not a fan of Nissan styling. Sure, they're fast.
I admit I wasn't expecting to like the Ram but I took a look at one anyway. Heeyyy, this interior could work well - not fancy but well laid out and looks like it'll stand up for another 10-15 years of ownership with no problem. I like the seats. Then I drove it. I hadn't noticed the automatic was a 5spd. Coupled with the power of the Hemi, I was sold, and I began my quest for the vehicle with the exact options I wanted.
A week later, I had it. Solid white with every possible factory option except the CD changer and side airbags. Extremely clean, 1-owner trade without so much as a single dent, ding, or scratch. Friends and family think it's a brand new truck. The interior's black leather looks great and the gazillion-way adjustable seats w/ heat and lumbar are perfect as well. People who have never considered a Dodge are very impressed. My grandfather is considering the new Tundra (he's had several of the previous kind) and now wants to try out a new Ram first.
I've owned the truck for two weeks to the day and I'm still very pleased with the purchase. I think a lot more of these would be sold if people would just give 'em a try. Dodge knows how to build a truck.

As a ex Ford Owner, and Driving Gm as a companny truck, ( 05 ) and now owning a Dodge Ram, Here's my thoughts.
Ford, The body and paint construction are better than dodge or Gm But Fords reliability is non exsistant, the rest of the truck is junky, The 5.43v is a ****y engine even withh the variable timming and all the improvemts ford claims to have gained with H/P are off set by the wheight gain.
The F-150 handels like a race car, but at the expense of it being a truck.
the Gm trucks are two light, but they haul *** and get better mileage but off road, even with the z71 package thier not that tight, I like the 5.3 v/8 over the the Ford 5.4., the chevy appears more user friendly for the do it your selfer.
Dodge has thier faults, but over all, I will not say Dodge is all thier, I have been most impressed with my hemi and my Ram has been perfect in the first 20,000 km, but dodge is kinda backwards in looks and feature area, But with a little tweaking Dodge is not that far off the mark.
If you need the bigest gas powerd work truck, go for a dodge, if your feature minded and like the interior of the F-150 ( that's all ford guys can talk abought ) and you like to waste your money, buy a ford.
As for Gm, if your looking for a light duty pick up, the base 4.3 vorteck is bullit proff and othier wise Gm's are two light and to plasticly for my liking.
I will say I'm a happy convert to the Ram, if your really wanting feed back, try f150online.com or run a search engine on Gm.
As the world turns, verry few Ford's, Gm's or Dodges are going to built in northamerica in the up comming years.
