What can I do to getrid of that muffling sound when MDS kicks in, perhaps I can't. Any info would be great. Will getting rid of the two resonators work or will it be louder ( muffling sound in cab) ? If so I feel like putting my factory muffler back on and leaving it alone. Any help please and thank you.

There are exhaust threads everywhere, but what we need is a once and for all solution for people that have MDS Ram's, want a bit more growl, but don't want the jake brake MDS noise or drone in the cab. The $64K question - does this even exist? If so, what's the combo? Replace muffler only, take off rear resonator only, replace it all, etc.

I want a bit more growl, but I drive on the highway everyday and don't want to hear the dreaded MDS noise.

I can tell you my experience with flowmasters. I have a 06 hemi w/MDS. I bought it used with no resonators and a flowmaster 10 series (see first pic). The setup sounded so badass, but the drone in the cab was unbearable. I finally got fed up and bought a 50 series delta (second pic). 1000 percent better. Still has the growl when on the loud pedal, but way easier on the ears on the highway. So what I'm saying is.. LOUDER EXHAUST= LOUDER DRONE. I don't think you can get away from thatw/MDS. I guess some sacrifices have to be made for fuel economy.

Maybe I'm deaf. I have an '06 hemi with only cats and one flowmaster super 40, dumped. I don't know what drone, or muffled MDS sound ya'll are talking about!!! Mine sounds freakin' awesome. The only noise that bothers me is the (dodge ram mopar term) "window buffeting" that occurs when I have both of the back windows down....that **** damn near bursts my ear drums!!

FYI- I got my muffler new off of ebay for $65 and had it installed for $20. Best & cheapest mod I've done so far!

Here's my exhaust now. I had originally had me rear resonator in when I had my flowmasterbut I had it removed less than 24 hours later. I have avery nice rumble from my hemi now. I do have to say that when mds kicks in it sounds like a wannabe muscle car with a upgrade exhaust. It really reminds me of the sound of a late 70s or early 80sCamero with the little engine. I will say no matter how wimpy it sounds I will take the fueland money savings over sounding "cool" to everyone else. Here are the pics of my truck's exhaust. 1 & 2 are from the right rear. 2 & 3 is looking forward. 5 is looking to the rear.
