Default Squeaking Issue

Hi guys, got a bit of a problem on a 2003 Dodge Ram/Quad Cab 4x4 4.7L ~60,000miles.

My truck gets moderate farm use so it gets abused a bit but overall, I try to take care of it. Have squeaking issue that has developed that I cant isolate for the life of me. I just assumed it was the universal joint when it started so I used penetrating grease on it and it didnt seem to stop the issue. It begins squeaking at about 5mph and will usually stop about 25mph, but sometimes it wont stop at all. The squeaking speeds up as I speed up. When I apply my breaks, the squeaking will stop but will start again when I release my breaks. I have checked pads and rotors and neither of them show wear to the point where it should be them.

Like say, I have checked several different things but I am no expert. Anyone have any areas that I can maybe focus on, would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for you time guys.

Sounds like the exact same problem on my 2005 Ram.
Kind of irritating isn't it?
Hope someone in here can help.
I don't know if yours is the same but if I put mine in neutral, the squeak goes away.

I had the same issue on my 2002 4.7 single cab.
Go grab on the back of your tailgate in the middle and shake it a little. It could possibly be the big metal pins in your tailgate that are squeaking. If so, just grease it up, and you're good to go. This drove me crazy for MONTHS!

My '02 4.7L QC has the same issue. I was hoping it was the brake pads or something stuck in there, but I have been waiting til they needed to be changed to change them.. It is really annoying though...any solutions?

P.S. I'm 100% positive it is not my tailgate, in my case.

Mine definately isn't the tailgate either. Nor is it the bumper or the hitch.
It really sounds like something in the transmission. Kind of how some older cars had the squeaky speedometer gear.

My squeek is coming from the rear spring perches. If you lay under the truck and shake it, that is where I narrowed mine down. I sprayed them down with penetrating oil, and it went awat for a couple days.

I have isolated the squeak to be somewhere around the front wheels/suspension...Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Should I just get under there and lube everything up and see if it stops?..[sm=confused06.gif]
