Default B&M Megashifter

I just finished putting a B&M Truck Megashifter in my 04 QC 4X4 and raised the 4x handle. Check it out.

Very nice! Being new to Dodge, I wasn't aware the 04's had a floor shifter. Is that specific to 4x4's or the model year?

Either way, the B&M make we wish I had a 4x4! LOL!

Uber Cool, functional, and don't park in the Sun!

We need details! How much? How difficult? How did you cover the original shifter location? That's freakin' sweet and may make my list of mods!

Thanks folks.

The 04 hemi 1500 truck comes with a column shifter, I removed that and got the covers off of a manual 2500 so it didn't have the big hole where the shifter was.

Then I went to the dealer and got a can of matching spray paint for the steering column covers and shifter tower.

You can do this on 2wd or 4wd. On 2wd you just won't have the other shifter and won't have to lean it so far to the driver side.

The install is not hard. Just got to be careful cutting the rug to mount the shifter on the metal floor, I cut a wire to the seat belt pretensioners that caused an air bag light, LOL!

Got to make a couple of easy mods to the shifter cable mounting at the trans. Easy stuff.
The tow/haul button is relocated to the rear of the shifter tower. And I also put a pcm reset button on there because with my turbo and piggyback computers fighting with the pcm, I need to reset it now and then and I don't need to open the hood anymore. The switch interrupts the pcm fuse.

I got the column covers from makeitmopar.com. 22.88 plus shipping.

Shifter is the B&M Light Truck Megashifter for auto trans, around $200 plus shipping from Summit. The regular Megashifter is for cars and is shorter.

If you get one and have any questions, you can email me and send me your email/phone number/whatever and I'll help.

Just the shifter. I have not heard good things about big power on the shift kits.

The stock trans is holding up fine.

The thing is with turbos or superchargers, you don't jump on it at 50mph or so and let it downshift under power. It'll burn up the weak 2nd prime gear.
