Did a search and found another 07 owner that couldn't get the procedure to work. I've done it about 30 times in a row straight out of the owners manual, and, much to the dismay of my neighbors, and it didn't work. Anyone have any ideas? I'm taking it in to the dealer for a door rattle on Monday, maybe I'll ask them to try.

 

does any other functions work on the key? it might have a dead battery, i kinda wish my horn wouldnt honk it annoys me lol

 

I was told in another thread here that in the 07 it can't be done by the way the manual says to do it. You must take it to the dealer to remove that feature to make it work. Pretty bogus if you ask me but I too have spent hours trying to remove it all the while pissing off my neighbors hearing the honk every 15 seconds or so and occasionally hearing the alarm too.

 

That's right, no workie on the 07's. Dealer has to usea programmer to change it.

 

Have them hook it up to the STARSCAN, they can turn it off.

 

I'm glad I saw this thread because I thought to myself after trying a hundred times what the heck am I doing wrong. Good to know I wasn't the only one that was getting annoyed.

 

I'm in the same boat as you guys, I thought it was just me. I called my dealer today about re-flash or whatever needs to be done. They want to charge me for it? is that normal? should i have to pay for this service? When in the manual it a customer programable feature?

 

That should not be charged for, that is ridiculous. My dealer told me today they'd do it for freebecause the instructions don't work.

 

I dont use the key-fob to lock my doors, i use the door-lock on my drivers door, it locks the doors and sets the security system without the honk, i only use the key-fob to unlock, my 2 cents gents.

 

It worked on my 07, until I got it home and turned it off. There was a pamphlet in my truck that listed some common proceedures, it was handy.

hereare the keyless entry steps that turned my horn honk off on the first try....

1) press and hold the LOCK button on the key for atleast 4 seconds, but less than 10 seconds
2) Continue to hold the LOCK button and then press the PANIC button while continuing to hold the LOCK button
3) Release both buttons at the same time

This process can be used to turn it off or on, just repeat the steps. If you accidentally set off the horn during this process by pressing PANIC, press it again to turn it off.

I also have the follow steps if anyone needs them:

1) Auto door locks at 15 mph
2) Keyless entry turn signal flash
3) auto unlock of all doors when drivers door opens
4) keyless entry, unlock drivers door on first press, all others on second press on unlock button
