Wipers quitting

Wipers quitting
A couple of months after I bought my '02 I was driving in the rain and the wipers just quit. I made it on home and swapped out the fuse and relay with the spares and they worked again so I didn't think any more of it.
Now 5 years later, the wipers have quit twice in the last week (darn rainy Louisiana weather). First time I was driving in the rain and they worked, then I got out of the rain and turned them off. When I got into more rain I turned the switch but they wouldn't come on. Then about 4 hours later while I was driving down the road they just came on by themselves.
Yesterday I came out of work and it was raining, turned on the wipers and they didn't come on. I managed to make it 5 miles to home thanks to Rain-X. This morning it was raining again (darn rainy Louisiana weather) and they worked just fine.
At first I thought it's probably a loose wire or connector, but yesterday when I got home yesterday, before I turned off the engine I tried the wipers one last time and they didn't work, then when I got in this morning they worked again, so maybe it's something else. Anyone run into this on their Ram?
Thanks for any ideas
Dan
