rebel, you have the 4.7 liter, therefore no mds. Your motor will sound fine with exhaust since you run on all 8 cylinders all the time.

Johndcjr1989, the 6.1 cam does not work with the mds motor. There is a company that has mds ground cams but I can not think of the company right now.
I though the 6.1L would work but......
After doing alot of research I found this tid bit of info about the 6.1L Cam, looks like its bad news forALL 5.7 Hemi's

You may get customers wanting a 6.1 HEMI cam installed into a 5.7 HEMI, or simply wanting to purchase the parts:

Be advised that customers/dealers seeking some extra horsepower from a 5.7L should not attempt to install a 6.1 camshaft in a 5.7L. Unlike engines from 30 years ago, this parts swapping approach no longer works and can result in severe engine damage. The 5.7L valvetrain cannot handle the lift/duration of the 6.1L cam and will likely fail from the additional stress. Also be aware that these swaps would cause the vehicle to be out of emissions compliance and could subject your Dealer to a substantial fine if the swap is performed in your shop.

There are alot of MDS cams out now, I just hope they get some better MDS friendlylifters to compliment the cams.

My problem with the MDS is between that and the computer, it takes forever (so it seems) for it to understand that I put my foot in it. That is the electronic throttle though too. That I why I have been harping for a stick with the Hemi. You press the gas, it doesn't have to think about it, just DO!

Exclamation mds

the multi displacement system is a joke. I traded my 05 dodge for my new 08, big mistake. I've tried haveing dealers remove it, no luck yet. Some might beable to deal with it, but not me. Im about to trade for a chevy, and im a hard core dodge fan. If had known what a set of straight pipes sounded like on it, i would have never traded. If there is a dealership that will remove it, please let me know.

Default wow

I've had all these problems and i never knew it was the mds.

I hate waiting for it to kick back to 8 cyl.
And I hate the noise at 35 mph even more.
I'm def going to get a superchip to take this off.

Great thread guys.

Also, has anyone noticed what the fuel difference is when MDS is on or not?
