water leaking into truck

Default water leaking into truck

I just picked up a new 06 laramie q/c about a month ago and when it rains really hard i get about an inch of water in the storage compartment underneath the rear seat behind the drivers. has anyone ever had this happen? im taking it into the stealership but not for a week.

TSB regarding rear window leak, and one story regearding no gasket in the 3rd brake light, then leaking out the window seems to ring a bell...........

Yep, the leaky 3rd break light sounds like the cause.

run some clear silicone around the rear window. problem solved, and it beats waiting around at the dealer for 3 or more hours. if you think it's the brake light, you can do the same. my problem was at the top corners on both sides of the rear window.

i think i saw a tsb on a body seam leak. i don't recall what years, but it's in those same areas. rear window and where the side panel of the cab meets the rear of the roof panel. the tsb instruction was to just remove the body trim, apply some silicone to the seam and install new body trim. i may have this problem myself as i thought my carpet was a little damp the last big rain we had.

I had the same problem. It was the 3rd brake light. The wire to my Sirius antena was to blame. I used some clear silicone and that fixed it.

I tooka toothpick and slid it into the window gap in the corners. It almost seemed like there was no window gasket in either corner. Silicone did the trick.

Same problem with my truck... but if yours is new... f'em bring it in and make them fix it.
